A SPRING IN YOUR STEP

This is my first time to make a movie review which is usually i just make a kpop article or some kind of girls things. I've ever to make a movie review but i think i feel like i'm not good at this. Why i started to make movie review about "It's Kind Of A Funny Story"? Because i have some kind of a funny story too like in this movie, so i think i'm intrested to  make this movie review.

First of all i was confused with this title, is some kind of comedy film? Is the film too funny so it will make me laugh while watching this movie?

Movie with the main character, Keir Gilchrist as Craig Gilner who is diagnosing himself having depression until he try to kill himself but ended up in Psychiatric Hospital, Argenon Hospital in a floor named 3 North. In the begginning of the story maybe have been presented with scene suicide to jump from the bridge by Craig but it doesn't happened because his family come to his imagination. 

After his suicide failed, then Craig try to call suicide hotlines. And finally make him treated for 5 days in  floor adult psychiatric named 3 North. Firstly he felt difficulty because he must to live with people who have mental illness like schizophrenia and sociopath. Sleep with a guy named Muqtada who never get out from his bed. Meet a guy named Solomon who have a sensitive hearing. And people with another mental illness.

But as time goes by, everything is change. Be better, of course. One of them, he met a wisdom guy, Bobby. Bobby is a first person to speak with Craig and then make friends with Johnny and Humble. Sense of depression which his suffered even more changed, he thought that he can't draw but in fact he have good skill at drawing with a brain map concept that he have and special music performance that can makes people in 3 North impressed.

Scene Craig and Noelle also quite interesting, well because most of teen film always insert a little bit teen love story. Although it doesn't describe intensely. The process getting know to each other quite unique, they always send letter to each other.

Even though the ending easy to predicted. But the moral message in "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" is very much, especially for people who feel depressed. 

First, everyone maybe ever felt anxious and being fear in their lives, felt like i can't do anything right, felt tired, and depressed. Just remember that every human has own strengths and weaknesses. As the saying goes by Dr. Minerva, 

"Lord, grant me the strenght to change the things i can, the courage to accept the things i can't and the wisdom to know the difference."

Appreciate everything that you have in yourself, don't you ever feel weak or less. Because somewhere there's always people who doesn't have about what you have today.

Second, when you feel suffered and maybe sometimes you feel like you wanna kill your self. Everyone maybe has ever thought to suicide. Everyone ever feel suffering. Just understand, if you're gone there's always people who feel sad and losing you. Even though you doesn't think so. We never really know about someone's heart. God never gives you a problem beyond your ability. Don't you ever suicide, no matter how much pressure that you have. You never alone, there's always people who have a lot pressure more than you have but still alive.

Third, do the best thing that you can do to help people. Like Craig who helped Bobby to lend a shirt for Bobby wear when interview or play an Egypt music to make Muqtada get out from his room. We also can do this thing but with different treatment. Do the best thing, no matter how small it is. The good things that you can do maybe very imprinted in someone's heart that you helped.

The story of "It's Kind Of A Funny Story" honestly very sensitive, very light, and quite easy to understand by movie lovers also there is so much moral message. Maybe a little bit confused in some scenes. This movie themed mental illness such as depression, we can understand at least about  what a person feel when depressed. I'm very enjoyed when i watch this movie. Maybe i don't want to rate how good is this, but i'm very recommend to watch this movie if you want to know about some kind of mental illness it is.

Ah, are you curious what kind of a funny story before i watch this movie?

On March 29th 2018 i feel suffering. Firstly i feel sorry to canceled my application for becoming a drafter as i wanted before, i know i have a big chance for this job, but just because i can't handle my emotion i cancled this application very easily. Maybe Mr. Arya and Mr. Rahman very upset because my decision, i am also upset to my self. And then my ATM was blocked because i forgot my PIN. Stress, anxious, and pressure is  like bubbling out. 

Seeing my movie list that i never watched before, i feel interested with a title of a movie named 'It's Kind Of A Funny Story". And after i watch it, i feel funny because it feels like im watching my self on this movie. After watching this movie i feel like i can handle my problem. Replaced dissapontment with optimism to find another job and think positive that all the problem will be pass.
